Breadth Topics:

Structural Breadth

By adding a prefabricated kitchen pods into the slabs, the load on the structural system could increase. A structural analysis will be performed  to analyze the effects the kitchen pods has on the slabs. The goal of this structural breadth analysis is to ensure that the slabs has the floor load capacity to support the kitchen pods. If a larger floor load capacity has been determined to be necessary for depth analysis II, a redesign of the floor slabs will be performed to reflect the change in load, cost and associated work.

Acoustic Breadth

The acoustical breadth analysis is based of depth analysis IIl; prefabrication. This analysis will compare the STC between the original site-built kitchen and the proposed analysis of prefabricating kitchen pods. Acting as a mixed use/residential building this analysis will also evaluate the level of sound transmission between apartments to determine if the STC rating of the apartments meet the minimal requirement.
